Mango-King of Fruits

Mangoes, Mangoes, Mangoes. Sweet Mangoes are
synonymous to Scorching summer.Mangoes without summer
is almost all a summer without sun.

Considered as king of fruits, but for typical Andhra
person(Telugu Variki) ,Banginapalli is the ultimate
Nirvana. Even when we reach heaven, we may go for
searching for the coveted Golden Fruit.
Summer Vacation, between April and May is Mango time,
typical day started with Mango breakfast and lunch
with heavy dose of Banginpalli(actually it is
Banganapalli) Mangoes in Perugannam(Curd rice), I will
not be pardoned if do not mention new season
Mamidikaya Pacchadi(Avakayya) along with MUDDA PAPPU
,topped with clear ghee, followed by Mamadikayya
Pappu/Chintachigru Pappu(another summer delicacy).

Afternoon time is for Pedda Rasalu and Tati
Munjalu, and evening for Water Melons and Sparkling
sweet Lemon Sharbet.
Cool …Cool…Cool to match the Fahrenheit Heights.
Once the Banginapalli gone,it is room for other lesser
varities like Swarnareka and Totapuri(Collector).

Once we fallen in the academic and career cycles
gradually I lost touch with all this sensitivities.
In U.K, we are exposed more to Israel Mangoes, which
are mere pulp and lacks any trait, and got in touch
with Alphonsos and Kesar (From Pakistan) Variety but
none matched the Bn’gpli.

President Bush in last trip to India, flattered with
the Indian Mangoes, and wondered why they are not
available in U.S ,and as a result we are exchanging
mighty Mangoes with mere Macho Harely Davidson Bikes.

By the end of Mango season, heavy consumption of
mangoes usually lead to forming of
blisters(Seggadalu).
When ever we used to go towards Palvancha bus-stop
,we used to opt for longer Amitab (long) Sugarcane
juice, very rarely gone for Jaybaduri glass.

Try to share some of your Mango moments as well
